It is a three-story research building complete with six Minifigures - Johnny Thunder, Pippin Reed, Dr. Lightning, Mike, Mr. Cunningham, and Baron Von Barron. It also includes four dinosaurs - a T-rex, a Baby T-Rex, a... More Stegosaurus, and a Pteranodon. This set contains many dinosaur catching tools and vehicles, including a twin-engine aero plane and a car. The compound is situated on a river.”

“Simply put, 5987 Dino Research Compound is a lot of fun. When I completed this flagship set and stood back, my first reaction was "Awesome!". I feel like a kid in a candy store with this kit - there is so much to take in and to play around with. Unfortunately, this set is... More often overlooked and underrated. This may be because many people like to build their set and put it on display - and the dino compound isn't exactly the prettiest thing in the LEGO world. However, for those who still like to "play well", Dino Research Compound will be a feast for your imagination and guarantee a good time.”

About Adventurers Dino Island

Dino Island was an Adventurers subtheme released in 2000 and was based on the story line where the explorers discover a new mysterious island and discover that there are dinosaurs living on the island. Characters/minifigures in the Dino Island theme include Johnny Thunder, Mr. Cunningham, Dr. Charles Lightning, Baron von Barron and many other Adventurers' characters in addition to dinosaurs.

Dino Island was introduced in 2000 and currently consists of 17 sets. As of today, 5975 T-Rex Transport is the most valuable Dino Island set with an estimated new/factory sealed value of $713.
