The LEGO Classic Space was introduced in 1978 and was the first space theme. It features sets with peaceful space explorers with no enemies unlike other LEGO space sets. There were 5 astronaut minifigures the wore the same suites but in various colors including blue, red, white, yellow and black.
1980 LEGO Sets
In 1980, LEGO introduced the LEGO Train theme, building upon previous train sets but now incorporating 12-volt systems for electrification. The year also marked the debut of the LEGO Classic Space theme, adding a new dimension to LEGO's portfolio with sets that focused on futuristic and extraterrestrial exploration. Additionally, the Technic line, which emphasized more advanced building techniques with specialized parts, continued its growth.
