In 2014 LEGO released 1 Advanced Models sets. The largest Advanced Models set from 2014 was
10241 Maersk Line Triple-E with a piece count of 1518 and a retail price of $149.99. The current estimated value of all these Advanced Models sets from this year is about $302.44 which represents a 201.6% growth.
Advanced Models, also known as Creator containes sets focused on the creative construction of LEGO System parts as opposed to playability functions of minifigures, alothough many sets do contain minifigures. These sets include buildings, trains, vehicles and other complex contruction sets. The Advanced Models/Creator sets initially began in 2000 and was a replacement for the LEGO Designer theme.
2014 LEGO Sets
2014 was a very important year for LEGO. With the release of The LEGO Movie at the beginning of the year, LEGO was introduced to a whole new generation and population of LEGO lovers, collectors and investors. In addition to the movie, LEGO celebrated the 15th anniversary of LEGO Star Wars and even more important was the decision to continue the Ninjago theme which was originally slated to be discontinued. 2014 also gave collectors the minifigure-scale Minecraft theme based off the widely popular game. New themes that year included Juniors, The LEGO Movie, Mixels, The Simpsons, Ultra Agents, Fusion and Disney Princess. In addition, we did see a number of discontinued themes such as Galaxy Squad, Lone Ranger and The Lord of The Rings.
