LEGO 2014 / Duplo Sets

In 2014 LEGO released 38 Duplo sets across 7 subthemes. The largest Duplo set from 2014 was 10565 Creative Suitcase with a piece count of 135 and a retail price of $59.99. The current estimated value of all these Duplo sets from this year is about $2,426.29 which represents a 288.6% growth.

The LEGO DUPLO theme was introduced as far back as 1969 and is designed for children ages 1 to 5. It features DUPLO figures which are much larger than minifigures and DUPLO blocks which are about twice the length, width, and height of a standard System brick. Like LEGO System, DUPLO also has subthemes that are often junior versions of System themes, like Pirates and Castle and licensed themes like Disney and Super Heros.

2014 LEGO Sets

2014 was a very important year for LEGO. With the release of The LEGO Movie at the beginning of the year, LEGO was introduced to a whole new generation and population of LEGO lovers, collectors and investors. In addition to the movie, LEGO celebrated the 15th anniversary of LEGO Star Wars and even more important was the decision to continue the Ninjago theme which was originally slated to be discontinued. 2014 also gave collectors the minifigure-scale Minecraft theme based off the widely popular game. New themes that year included Juniors, The LEGO Movie, Mixels, The Simpsons, Ultra Agents, Fusion and Disney Princess. In addition, we did see a number of discontinued themes such as Galaxy Squad, Lone Ranger and The Lord of The Rings.
