LEGO 157-3 4 Car Auto Transport was a 65 piece Samsonite set released in 1970. It was released in only in the United States as a Sears exclusive. The set itself came in a full color box sold in stores and later in a plain brown mailer box from the Sears catalog. The color box showed LEGO HO 1:87 scale cars, however, Samsonite ran out of the HO 1:87 scale cars and LEGO had already discontinued manufacturing the cars, so Samsonite substituted Minix cars.

About Samsonite Model Maker

Model Maker was a theme of sets manufactured by Samsonite starting in 1968 until 1971. There were nineteen sets produced for this theme, many of these sets were duplications of sets released with-in the LEGOLAND theme that were originally produced by LEGO for European markets.

Model Maker consists of 22 sets that ran from 1967 to 1971. As of today, 330-4 Jeep is the most valuable Model Maker set with an estimated new/factory sealed value of $2,778.
