LEGO 3005-1 Piston Car is a Technic promotional set released in 1999, containing 26 pieces. The model is a small racing car built around a working single-cylinder reciprocating engine, with the piston moving up and down as the wheels turn. Its crankshaft also functions as a solid rear axle, creating a direct 1:1 gear ratio. The set was released as a Kabaya promotion in Japan and is the same model as set 1260, which was issued in Germany in standard small-box Technic packaging. Based on current trends, this set could be valued near $41 within the next year.
Piston Car (3005-1) is a very old and rare LEGO set. It has not been available online or in retail stores in good/new condition for over 2 years. This is a particularly unconvincing model as it does not really look like anything recognizable. However, for all its lack of realism...
