LEGO 3005 Piston Car was a 26 piece Technic promotional set released in 1999. This set was a released as a Kabaya promotion in Japan. It is the same as set 1260 which was released as a promotion in Germany.
Piston Car is an extremely old and very rare LEGO set. We have not seen set 3005-1 currently for sale online or in the hundreds of retail stores in good/new condition in over 1,636 days. Because of the rarity of this hard to find set the current estimated value of $33.15 might actually be much lower than the true value, assuming this set can be found for sale.

“This aptly named "piston car" was released in 1999 came in multiple packages with different numbers as part of a series of 4 micro models. This is a particularly unconvincing model as it does not really look like anything recognizable. However, for all its lack of realism... More it does sport a truly massive single cylinder engine which, to scale, must have a bore of close to a meter.”

About Technic

TECHNIC is one of The LEGO Company's main lines based on creating detailed model machines and mechanical toys with specialized beams, axles, gears and connectors and primarily designed for older children and adults. The theme was first introduced as the Expert Builder series in 1977, but was officially renamed as TECHNIC in 1984. TECHNIC is still an active theme, and is one of the longest running themes in LEGO history.
