3509 LEGO Imagination Explore Super Truck

LEGO set 3509 Explore (Brickbuster) Super Truck was a 41 piece Explore set released in 2002 that was voluntarily recalled by LEGO Systems Inc. on September 20, 2006 after the US Consumer Products Safety Commission received numerous reports of the wheels falling off the truck exposing the sharp metal axles and could cause a potential hazard to children. The box of 40 LEGO DUPLO bricks that were packed in the cab of the truck were not part of this voluntary recall.

The LEGO EXPLORE Super Truck was manufactured in 2002 and 2003, and was available only in North America at toy and discount merchandise retailers including Toys "R" Us and Wal-Mart from August 2002 through August 2004. LEGO Systems offered a $15 refund in the form of a LEGO Gift Card to consumers who verified they were in possession of the recalled item. The truck carried a suggested retail price of $19.99 (USD). Because the DUPLO bricks included with the truck were not being recalled and are suitable for continued use, LEGO refunded the truck's portion of the suggested retail price.

Based on current trends, this set could be valued near $147 within the next year. The set was available for 24 months, from August 2002 to August 2004.
