42254 LEGO Technic Space Solar System Planets in Orbit

LEGO 42254 Solar System Planets in Orbit is a rumored Technic set due in January 2027, with an expected retail price of $109.99. It is one of 7 rumored Technic sets for 2027.

Forecast Model

This represents the expected annual growth (CAGR) based solely on a forecast model.
Solar System Planets in Orbit is a rumored medium-sized Technic mechanical orrery that expands on the geared Earth and Moon concept with a full lineup of simplified microscale planet markers. The model is highly expected to run from a main crank that drives interlocking gears to show relative planetary positions. Fans expect the higher price to come from extra-large gear rings, custom printed planet elements, or a new style of display base.
Details are based on early reports and may change before LEGO's official announcement.
Collector and Investor Insights
Technic display models built around a clear mechanical concept have typically held collector interest better than generic vehicles, and this orrery format benefits from being an unusual science-based subject within the theme. Its medium-sized scale and retail distribution point to a moderate ceiling, but a gear-driven Solar System model with printed planet elements or specialized orbital parts could age better than standard Technic releases if execution is distinctive.
