LEGO 644-1 Double Tanker is a LEGOLAND Vehicle / Traffic set released in 1971, containing 61 pieces. The set builds a blue-and-white articulated tanker truck featuring two cylindrical fuel tanks mounted on a detachable trailer. Each tank section is decorated with printed LEGO logo bricks, a distinctive feature of early 1970s vehicle sets. The model uses small wheel elements with narrow tires and employs simple brick-built techniques rather than specialized vehicle components, reflecting the pre-minifigure design era. The cab includes a single front axle, while the trailer connects via a turntable-style hitch, allowing limited articulation during play.

A new and sealed Double Tanker is currently valued at around $348, with annual growth of approximately 8%, which is higher than other Vehicle sets. The average used price is $23 for those in good overall condition. New and sealed listings currently range from $341 to $347. Based on current trends, this set could be valued near $372 within the next year.

About LEGOLAND Vehicle

The LEGOLAND Vehicle theme is a subset of the broader LEGOLAND line from the 1970s and 1980s. This specific theme concentrated on various vehicles, from cars and trucks to boats and airplanes. Using a more simplistic design approach characteristic of that era, the sets aimed to recreate everyday transportation modes.

Vehicle consists of 47 sets that ran from 1970 to 1977. As of today, 611 Police Car is the most valuable Vehicle set with an estimated new/factory sealed value of $724.
Summary
LEGOLAND Vehicle Double Tanker set 644 was released in January 1971, retailing for $5, but has since been retired. New, unopened Double Tanker sets are valued at $348, while used sets can be found for $23.
