“It may not seem as if this is a very exciting set, and yes, it’s just a car and a minifigure. But it’s nice to see a licensed set at a lower price point. Beyond the recruitment bags (polybags), all of the previous Sonic sets have been offered at higher price points. This set... More is neatly positioned as a ‘pocket money’ purchase. The giant sets and elaborate display models are impressive and all, but they alienate younger LEGO fans. The Sonic: Speedster Lightning set joins the Silver’s Car vs. Knuckles Monster Truck set.”
