Bricksfanz
“It may not seem as if this is a very exciting set, and yes, it’s just a car and a minifigure. But it’s nice to see a licensed set at a lower price point. Beyond the recruitment bags (polybags), all of the previous Sonic sets have been offered at higher price points. This set... More is neatly positioned as a ‘pocket money’ purchase. The giant sets and elaborate display models are impressive and all, but they alienate younger LEGO fans. The Sonic: Speedster Lightning set joins the Silver’s Car vs. Knuckles Monster Truck set.”

BrickEconomy Expert Review
“This Sonic Speedsters Lightning set delivers a surprisingly dense and well-resolved build, using angled side paneling, layered slopes, and clean shaping to give the kart a sleek, game-accurate profile. Small design touches like the hidden Chaos Emerald under the hood and the use of modern transparent and grille-less slope elements add visual interest without overcomplicating the construction. The Sonic minifigure is a standout, featuring an expressive head mold, detailed torso and leg printing, and back printing that together make it one of the... More most complete character executions in the theme.”
