About LEGO Classic Vehicle
The LEGO Classic Vehicle theme from the 1960s featured sets that centered on creating various vehicles using LEGO bricks. Distinct from the more detailed and specialized vehicle sets of later years, the 1960s theme provided basic parts and simple designs to construct cars, trucks, and other common vehicles. These sets were a part of LEGO's effort to expand its product range and offer builders thematic sets that focused on everyday objects and transportation modes.
1966 LEGO Sets
1966 was another landmark year for LEGO, with international expansion reaching an all-time high—LEGO products were now sold in 42 countries. This year also marked the official launch of the LEGO Train theme, a major milestone in the company's history. With the development of an improved 4.5V electric motor and housing, thanks to the efforts of LEGO Futura and the process development lab, trains became a natural extension of the LEGO system.
