Building Set with People ran from 1974 to 1980 with a majority of the sets released around 1977 and was a subtheme of the Homemaker brand designed to appeal primarily to girls. Most of the sets contained Homemaker Figures, also known as Maxi-Figs or Maxifigures, and the sets were about building items such as vehicles and room settings like a hospital, school classroom, a beauty salon or nursery for the figures and centered on domestic and suburban life-based settings. Building Set with People sets are typically vintage LEGO and such are very hard to come by in new and sealed packages.
1975 LEGO Sets
1975 expanded Basic Building Sets and introduced more systematic, idea-led boxes. Proto-minifigures—small, faceless figures with single-piece legs—appeared in town and train sets, foreshadowing the 1978 minifigure. LEGOLAND-branded sets emphasized construction vehicles and realistic machinery, reinforcing everyday play before the arrival of dedicated Space and Castle themes.
