The LEGO Duplo PreSchool theme, active in the early 1970s, was among the first Duplo lines designed for younger children. Key sets in this theme include "LEGOVille" (082), which featured a variety of buildings, vehicles, and figures to create a small town setting; "PreSchool Set" (78 and 75), which included basic building elements and figures to encourage creative play and learning; and "Train Station" (081), which provided a simple train station setup with a train, track, and station elements. These sets focused on developing fine motor skills and imaginative play in preschool-aged children.
1977 LEGO Sets
In 1977, LEGO expanded its product range with new sets that focused on city life, introducing models of houses, stores, and vehicles. This year also saw the introduction of the LEGO Expert Builder series, which laid the foundation for what would later become the LEGO Technic theme. These sets featured specialized elements such as beams, gears, axles, and connectors, allowing for more mechanically complex builds, including cars, airplanes, and construction equipment.
