Thomas and Friends is a LEGO DUPLO subtheme based on the Thomas the Tank Engine television show, train toys and The Railway Series books. The theme was released in 2005 in North America and later in 2007 in the UK and was discontinued in 2010. Fifteen sets in all were produced.
2006 LEGO Sets
In 2006, LEGO introduced several major themes while retiring others, marking a year of transition and innovation. One of the most notable additions was LEGO Batman, the company’s first full DC Comics collaboration, bringing Gotham’s heroes and villains into LEGO form. Another highly anticipated licensed theme was LEGO Avatar: The Last Airbender, based on the popular Nickelodeon series. However, despite its strong collector demand in later years, the theme was discontinued after just two sets, making them highly valuable today.
