LEGO Education Supplementary sets are designed to expand and enhance existing LEGO Education kits, providing additional elements to support more complex builds and activities. These sets typically include a variety of bricks, specialty pieces, and sometimes additional figures or accessories. They are intended to supplement core sets by offering more building options and extending the learning potential of LEGO-based activities. While specific supplementary sets vary, they generally aim to foster creativity, problem-solving skills, and hands-on learning in subjects such as science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Examples include additional gears for engineering sets, extra bricks for larger constructions, and thematic pieces for specialized projects. These supplementary sets are valuable resources for educators looking to enrich their curriculum and provide students with more diverse building experiences.
2008 LEGO Sets
2008 celebrated two milestones: the 50th anniversary of the LEGO brick and the 30th anniversary of the minifigure. LEGO Cuusoo (later LEGO Ideas) launched in Japan, paving the way for fan-designed sets. Indiana Jones joined Star Wars as LEGO’s second Lucasfilm theme, and Speed Racer appeared briefly alongside it. In-house lines included Agents and the debut of LEGO Architecture, aimed at adult collectors. The Green Grocer (10185) further elevated the Modular Buildings line, confirming its status among LEGO’s most prestigious collections.
