The LEGO Factory theme, active from 2005 to 2008, allowed fans to design their own models and have them produced as official LEGO sets. One notable set from this theme is the 10200 Custom Car Garage, released in 2008. This set features a detailed garage with three customizable cars, a lift, and various tools and accessories for building and modifying the vehicles. The set contains 893 pieces and includes three minifigures. The LEGO Factory theme was a precursor to the LEGO Digital Designer software, promoting creativity and custom model building.
2008 LEGO Sets
2008 celebrated two milestones: the 50th anniversary of the LEGO brick and the 30th anniversary of the minifigure. LEGO Cuusoo (later LEGO Ideas) launched in Japan, paving the way for fan-designed sets. Indiana Jones joined Star Wars as LEGO’s second Lucasfilm theme, and Speed Racer appeared briefly alongside it. In-house lines included Agents and the debut of LEGO Architecture, aimed at adult collectors. The Green Grocer (10185) further elevated the Modular Buildings line, confirming its status among LEGO’s most prestigious collections.
