Minifig Facts

The old Legoland Figures from the early 1970s, also known as pre-minifigures, were introduced in 1974 and were used in sets before the modern LEGO minifigure debuted in 1978. These figures had no arms or movable legs, featuring a simple design with a brick-built body and a molded head with printed facial features. They typically had a basic cylindrical head with dot eyes and a smile. These figures appeared in early Legoland Town, Castle, and Space sets, serving as the first attempt at adding human-like characters to LEGO playsets.
