Minifig Facts
The old Legoland Figures from the early 1970s, also known as pre-minifigures, were introduced in 1974 and were used in sets before the modern LEGO minifigure debuted in 1978. These figures had no arms or movable legs, featuring a simple design with a brick-built body and a molded head with printed facial features. They typically had a basic cylindrical head with dot eyes and a smile. These figures appeared in early Legoland Town, Castle, and Space sets, serving as the first attempt at adding human-like characters to LEGO playsets.

About Town Classic
The Town Classic minifigures are among the very first LEGO minifigures, from the years the minifigure was introduced, 1978 to 1981. They all share the same smiling face, and their torsos are plain colours or simple prints such as suits with buttons, shirts with a few buttons and a gold necklace. Shell workers in white staff the petrol stations, and construction workers, a chef and townspeople fill the first town sets. Some sets from just before 1978 have the older LEGOLAND figures, which have no arms and no printed face.
