About LEGO 4 Juniors Pirates

The Pirates subtheme of 4 Juniors contained 10 primary sets that was based on the story about Captain Kragg compeating against Cap'n Redbeard in a race for an island's treasure. This Pirates subtheme introduced a number of minion pirates as well, including Scurvy Dog, Cannonball Jimmy, Harry Hardtack, Drake Dagger and Jolly Jack Crow.

4 Juniors, also known as 4 Plus was a theme introduced in 2003 by LEGO that targeted children of four years old or more. It was a successor to the Jack Stone theme and used regular LEGO bricks but came with a different kind of minifigure that was larger then the standard minifigures. The sets tended to have a small number of larger pieces, in order to be easy to put together.
