“The Lego 10001 Metroliner is a re-release of the Lego 4558 Metroliner a Lego Train that is from 1991. This train is the nicest one I have seen so far, the red, white, and blue stripe on that plain old grey train just pops out at you, a good design decision on Lego’s part.... More The set itself includes 782 pieces, and of those 782 pieces, there are 11 different minifigures, three train cars, passenger scaffolding, and 20 pieces of track. Much like other train sets, this train can go both forward and backwards without turning the train around.”

About Trains 9V

LEGO Trains is one of the longer running themes that dates back from 1966 and ran up until 2006. During its run there were multiple sets released running on various power platforms from 4.5volt, to 9 and 12 volt sets. Later in 2011 LEGO released additional train sets using RC and Power Functions controllers under different themes like City.

9V consists of 67 sets that ran from 1991 to 2006. As of today, 10001 Metroliner Legend is the most valuable 9V set with an estimated new/factory sealed value of $1,462.
