LEGO 1242-2 International Flags is a System i Leg Supplemental set released in 1957, containing 5 pieces. Sold only in Denmark, Norway, and Sweden, it was a spare parts pack of five flag-on-flagpole elements and was similar to sets 242-1 and 242I-1. Fifteen different flag patterns existed across the range—covering 13 European countries, the USA, and a LEGO logo—with the Finnish flag added later in 1960. In northern Europe the pack was numbered 1242 (with a Denmark-only 1242D containing five Danish flags) while central Europe used 242; an example assortment includes Austria, LEGO logo, Netherlands, Portugal, and United Kingdom patterns.
A new and sealed International Flags is currently valued at around $272, with annual growth of approximately 3%, which is lower than other Supplemental sets. The average used price is $226 for those in good overall condition. Based on current trends, this set could be valued near $285 within the next year.
