1538 LEGO Pen Safari

LEGO 1538 Pen Safari is a Gear Pens set released in 2001. It is part of the LEGO Writing System line and features a buildable ballpoint pen themed around wildlife exploration and adventure. The pen includes interchangeable barrel segments in tan, brown, and green colors, reflecting a safari environment. A printed segment bearing the “Safari” name and a topper depicting an explorer-style minifigure head complement the design. The modular construction allows users to rearrange the barrel sections or combine them with other pens in the same series for customization. The estimated value of a new or sealed Pen Safari is approximately $19.
