Insights

Released as a Basic promotional item and now retired, Trial Size Offer is a small vintage promotional set whose sealed scarcity has driven collector interest, and its generic contents and common classic smile minifigure keep demand narrowly focused and prone to price volatility.

Set Facts

The set includes a Black Brick, Modified 2 x 2 with red wheels and black tires, specific for small vehicle builds. It features blue bricks and plates in various sizes (1 x 2, 2 x 2, 2 x 4, 2 x 3, and 2 x 8), red bricks and slopes, trans-clear 1 x 2 brick, and yellow bricks in 1 x 1 and 1 x 2 sizes. The set also contains a minifigure with a plain white torso, white arms, black legs, and a red hat.

About Basic

The LEGO Basic theme, which began in the 1970s, was designed to be a more general, non-thematic series of sets. Unlike the themed sets that revolve around specific stories, characters, or concepts (e.g., space, city, or pirates), the Basic theme provided a collection of standard LEGO bricks and pieces, often in a variety of colors. The goal was to encourage free building and creativity without the confines of a specific theme or narrative.
