“This must be one of the first sets to come with both a story and play feature. You see the cart has a hidden compartment where one of the forest men can hide. The weapons can be concealed in the hay. The other two then can pretend that they are farmers transporting their... More hay. I would guess the plan is to sneak into a castle and steal the treasure. That's usually what they're up to.”

Forestmen consisted of 7 sets including various hideouts and fortifications as well as simple carts and was discontinued in 1990. In the LEGO Catalogs, the following description was used; The Forestmen are a merry band of skilled archers. They enjoy good food and good times.

Forestmen consists of 7 sets that ran from 1987 to 1990. As of today, 6071 Forestmen's Crossing is the most valuable Forestmen set with an estimated new/factory sealed value of $1,884.
