Insights

Released long ago and now retired, Go-Kart (1972) is a small Technic promotional piece whose early-era rack-and-pinion steering and Technic pedigree draw nostalgia, and sealed examples are relatively scarce, while its non-flagship status and repeated go-kart remakes limit liquidity and upside.

Set Facts

The set consists of a vehicle with rack-and-pinion steering controlled by a wheel at the driver's position and features eight small rubber tires on gray wheels.
This promotional LEGO Technic set was only released in the US and was the only Technic set released in 1985.

Technic-Dialog

“The Go-Kart from the Lego Technic series is a very simple model. To my knowledge, the model was available only in the USA and not in Germany. Apparently, it was also a promotional set. It is understandable, therefore, why this model was so simple. However, I find the model... More to be well-made, so its three stars are quite deserved.”

Technicopedia

“This set features rack and pinion steering as it's only technical function, and at the time was the simplest Technic set to date with the possible exception of 1924. The front wheels can be steered using a wheel at the driver's position.”
