LEGO 2973 Musical Apple was a Baby set released in 2001. It includes a weighted apple that can't tip over and makes some sort of sound when activated.
Musical Apple is an extremely old and very rare LEGO set. We have not seen set 2973-1 currently for sale online or in the hundreds of retail stores in good/new condition in over 1,060 days. Because of the rarity of this hard to find set the current estimated value of $99.75 might actually be much lower than the true value assuming this set can be found for sale.

“It really only has one key feature - press down on the head of the worm and he will then slowly rise from the apple while it plays a music box tune. The apple is quite heavy, and weighted well at the bottom so it wobbles like a Weeble.”

About Baby

The Baby theme is designed for very young children and was first released in 2000 as part of the DUPLO style theme. It the predecessor of DUPLO Primo theme (1995-1996) then the LEGO Primo theme (1997-1999). LEGO Baby was discontinued in 2006. The bay parts where not that compatible with standard LEGO bricks since the bricks are larger to prevent babies from swallowing them. However, standard bricks of the same length and width can be attached to the bottom of Baby bricks and adapter pieces are also available.

Bright, sturdy but most of all charming, the Baby LEGO Musical Apple is one of those rare toys that really will last from birth to two years old.

Press the cute, smiling yellow "worm" into the apple, and it will sing a soft lullaby as it gently reappears, rising slowly to its full height. Though this may at first seem simple and somewhat limited in function, it is anything but and is something babies will love.
