LEGO 2000 / Baby Sets

The Baby theme is designed for very young children and was first released in 2000 as part of the DUPLO style theme. It the predecessor of DUPLO Primo theme (1995-1996) then the LEGO Primo theme (1997-1999). LEGO Baby was discontinued in 2006. The bay parts where not that compatible with standard LEGO bricks since the bricks are larger to prevent babies from swallowing them. However, standard bricks of the same length and width can be attached to the bottom of Baby bricks and adapter pieces are also available.

2000 LEGO Sets

The year 2000 marked a significant transition for LEGO, as the company balanced new innovations with major milestones. One of the most notable events was the retirement of Jens Nygaard Knudsen, the legendary set designer and inventor of the LEGO minifigure. His contributions shaped LEGO’s modern identity, and his departure signaled the end of an era.
