LEGO 343-2 Ferry is a Samsonite Model Maker set released in 1968, containing 147 pieces. It is the U.S. Samsonite version of set 343-1 Train Ferry, which was issued under the Classic theme, and this version was only available in the United States. The set builds a ferry designed to carry trains, and the Samsonite edition differs from the standard release in several details, including a different baseplate stud pattern. The box art also showed variations from the included model, with white windows pictured on the box while the actual model used red windows; the same version was also sold in Europe as set 343 Train Ferry.

About Samsonite Model Maker

Model Maker was a theme of sets manufactured by Samsonite starting in 1968 until 1971. There were nineteen sets produced for this theme, many of these sets were duplications of sets released with-in the LEGOLAND theme that were originally produced by LEGO for European markets.

Model Maker consists of 22 sets that ran from 1967 to 1971. As of today, 330-4 Jeep is the most valuable Model Maker set with an estimated new/factory sealed value of $3,031.
