LEGO 398 USS Constellation is a Hobby Set released in 1978, containing 973 pieces and no minifigures. The set builds a detailed scale model of the U.S. Navy ship USS Constellation, featuring brick-built masts, cloth sails, rigging lines, cannons, and a display stand with a nameplate. Designed for advanced builders, it represents one of LEGO’s earliest large historical ship models. Distributed exclusively in Continental Europe, the United Kingdom, and Australia, the set was later reissued in 2003 as LEGO 10021 USS Constellation with nearly identical design and components.
A new and sealed USS Constellation is currently valued at around $1,592, with annual growth of approximately 9%, which is higher than other Hobby Set sets. The average used price is $381 for those in good overall condition. Based on current trends, this set could be valued near $1,718 within the next year.
USS Constellation (398-1) is a very old and rare LEGO set. It has not been available online or in retail stores in good/new condition for over 2 years. Because of its scarcity, the current estimated value of in new condition of $1,591.75 may be much lower than its true market value. Released in 1978, sealed sets in good condition are especially difficult to find, often commanding a premium well above estimates.
There are currently no new/sealed listings available for 398 USS Constellation at this time.
