Insights

Limited to a gift-with-purchase promotional run, the Light Up Carved Pumpkin (40697) from Creator released and retired in 2024 and trades on scarcity driven by its light-up element, while seasonal demand spikes around Halloween and the absence of exclusive minifigures means remake risk and cyclical interest temper a long-term thesis.

Set Facts

You can build faces of different styles and light them up with the included lightbrick. The pumpkin is joined by a spooky ghost and a small display platform.
The light is illuminated by pressing on the stalk.

About Creator Seasonal

The LEGO Creator theme consists of a variety of subthemes that revolve around sets that focus on buildings, creatures, vehicles, robots and recently more specialized sets such as botanical and even the Chinese New Year. Many of these sets have fallen under the 3-in-1 label which include instructions in a single set to provide multiple alternative models. Originally created in 2001 with a focus on larger bucket sets, the LEGO Creator theme has expanded outside just bricks to later include minifigures.

Seasonal was introduced in 2001 and currently consists of 42 sets.

Girls and boys aged 8+ can celebrate Halloween and play out fun creepy tales with this Halloween Pumpkin (40697) playset. Kids can light up the pumpkins wide orange face by pressing down on its lid to illuminate a light brick inside. There are two faces to choose from: a traditional scary one or a friendly and smiley one. The pumpkin sits on a green baseplate next to a ghost floating on a transparent stick.
