Jays Brick Blog
“This is a great looking little display piece, that can be showcased in two distinct ways. On the front you’ve got a brick-built Genesis or Mega Drive controller, which can be customized with stickers to accurately reflect the SEGA system that’s appropriate to your region.... More Although it’s missing some of the printed details on the face of the real controller, it’s a pretty recognizable adaptation overall.”

“Build a gaming decor icon with this LEGO Sonic the Hedgehog SEGA Genesis Controller (40769) set. Embrace your video gaming passion with a retro gaming controller that has a microscale Green Hill Zone scene on the back and can be displayed two ways. The set also includes... More regional stickers for customization and more.”

“There is a lot of love and care that has gone into the design of 40769 SEGA Genesis Controller, in a way that rewards video game fans and LEGO fans with an intelligent and very satisfying model. For LEGO Sonic and video game fans this is a must have and represents fair value... More at the spend threshold, whilst for anyone else who happens to pick it up anyway you won’t be disappointed by the novelty of the LEGO experience either.”

The Sonic sets are geared towards play, with one including a launcher that sends the hedgehog racing through a full inverted loop, as well as introducing minifigure versions of other characters in the Sonic universe.

Promotional currently consists of 3 sets that as of now has run from 2023 to 2025. As of today, Sonic the Hedgehog Influencer Kit is the most valuable Promotional set with an estimated new/factory sealed value of $300.
