“Year of the Horse is a simple, symbolic build with a clear silhouette, using layered plates to shape the body and a decorative base with floral and gold accents that works well as a seasonal display. The pose and proportions feel fairly rigid, especially when compared to more expressive recent animal builds, but the model still comes together cleanly and looks tidy on display. The included envelope and name label are a nice traditional detail that adds context without distracting from the build itself.”
 

About Seasonal Chinese New Year

The Chinese zodiac consists of twelve animals – rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, goat, monkey, rooster, dog and pig. This cycle repeats every twelve years. Starting in 2013, the LEGO Group added a number of sets to celebrate the Chinese New Year, with each set depicting an animal represented in the Chinese zodiac.

Chinese New Year was introduced in 2013 and currently consists of 13 sets. As of today, 40207 Year of the Monkey is the most valuable Chinese New Year set with an estimated new/factory sealed value of $193.
