Brickset
“This is a set that offers a number of play opportunities. I was hoping there would be more moving functions in the set - oh how I miss the Elves sets from a few years ago that had multiple moving functions incorporated in them. However, there's enough going on that it... More offsets that a bit. As with all the sets in this subtheme, there are a number of new colours of parts, and the animals are new.”

Heartlake Times
“Even though this is a re-make of the previous Jungle Rescue Base, it's unique and updated enough to merit it's place in Friends history. The newer pieces and final finishing details add something special here.”

LEGO designer notes from Antica Bracanov
“My favorite set to work on so far. The bridge was the main challenge here. It needed to look organic but using strings was not an option as the trees would just collapse if you put pressure on the bridge. Brick-built bridges that I experimented with were sturdy but didn't... More look organic enough. I tried using the roller coaster track and it worked really well - it has a nice, organic shape but it also stabilizes the model.”
