“This is a great set. The first Heartlake News Van was somewhat underwhelming. It was a nice, small set, but much like many Friends sets at the time, the focus of the set was on something quite superficial, like a birthday. This news van is far superior, and I love the swing... More operation to expand the work space, which is crammed with details. While $5 more expensive than its earlier counterpart, 41749 comes with 170 more parts, is a better building experience, provides more play value, and tells a richer story.”

LEGO Friends sets are designed to appeal to girls and were introduced in 2012. The Friends theme includes mini-doll figures, which are around the same size as minifigures but are more realistic. LEGO Friends pieces are fully compatible with all LEGO System bricks and sets include pieces in pink and purple color schemes and depict scenes from suburban life set in the fictional town of Heartlake City.

Hardworking Aliya is committed to reporting the latest news for the community center. Kids can tell the unfolding story as a logger arrives to cut down a tree. After filming the story, kids can move Aliya into the control room inside the van to edit and broadcast the news. The set comes with 2 mini-dolls, 1 micro-doll and lots of accessories.
