LEGO 4338-1 Monster Pod is a Creator X-Pod set released in 2005, containing 49 pieces. The set was packaged in a transparent buildable plastic carry case with studs and includes an assortment of standard, transparent, and glow-in-the-dark elements. Instructions are provided for three different monster models, centered on one-eyed beasts and other small creature builds. It was part of the early Creator X-Pod line, which combined storage case packaging with small alternate-model builds.

“It came with a trans-purple pod with purple lids and included instructions for building several different monsters. One of the models was goblin-like in appearance, with one big eye and fangs, another was catapult-like and used one of the plates, and the third resembled a... More bird. Several of the purple parts included are quite rare.”

“This set was released in 2005, and is a part of the "Make and Create" theme, X-pod subtheme. The X-Pod sets are really basic, but all features useful pieces to any creations. This isn't an exception. It gets a 4,6 (well, it is a 5 out of 5) for useful pieces, good color... More scheme, though don't features a great playability because is too small and have limited movements.”

About Creator X-Pod

X-Pod was a subtheme originally released under the Designer theme from 2004 to 2005, and then later under the Creator theme in 2006. X-Pods are small, round containers which can be used to build on, or store LEGO bricks. They were designed for portability, because, as the subtheme's tagline went: "The urge to build can strike anywhere: Now you'll be prepared!".

X-Pod consists of 18 sets that ran from 2004 to 2006. As of today, 65535 X-Pod Play Off Game Pack is the most valuable X-Pod set with an estimated new/factory sealed value of $106.
