Train service packs were the spare and extra parts for LEGO trains from 1980 to 1996, the motors, wheels, couplings, wires and signals that let train fans repair, extend or build their own trains. Many of them were for the 12 V system, whose remote control units for points, signals and level crossings and flashing lights for crossings were sold separately in 1989. Others were small but needed parts, such as rubber rims for locomotive wheels, magnetic couplings, buffers and long 6x28 wagon bases. The 9 V system came in 1991 with 5300 Train Motor 9V, followed by bogie plates, wheel sets, headlight bricks and connecting wires.
Trains consists of 39 sets that ran from 1980 to 1996. As of today,
1106 Battery Tender for Trains is the most valuable Trains set with an estimated new/factory sealed value of $156.
