Insights

Released in 2013 and retired the same year, the Mermaid from Collectable Minifigures Series 9 is a distinctive CMF character with unique tail and torso printing that draws completionist interest, and limited blind-bag distribution created sealed-bag scarcity, while overlap with other mermaid figures and its non-army-builder profile temper upside.

Set Facts

The Mermaid minifigure comes with a starfish accessory.

Brickipedia

“The Mermaid's hairpiece is the same mould as Elizabeth Swann's and Syrena's, except in blonde. Her head has a smiling face with pink lipstick. She has a new printed yellow torso which has a sea shell necklace. She has a visible belly button, and she also wears a clam bikini... More top. She also has a light blue mermaid leg piece. The set includes an orange starfish as her only accessory.”

Eurobricks

“The parts assortment are good especially for the new hairpiece which I am quite sure I don't see it elsewhere and the lovely starfish. I love the torso as well and it could be used interchangeable for other minifigures customization purpose. I really could not find what does... More this minifigure lack of but seriously this will be very popular among many.”

“I wonder if I should have turned at Easter Island...”
Most mermaids spend their time frolicking beneath the waves, but this one has a special calling: she’s determined to become the first mer-person to ever swim all the way around the world. With the Ocean King’s blessing and her lucky starfish for company, she’s set out to circumnavigate the globe by sea and to see all of the exciting sights along the way.

So far, she’s seen bridges and boats, lighthouses and lagoons. She’s gone swimming with penguins, tide-raced with sea turtles, and once even went on a people-spotting tour with a group of friendly whales. The only thing the Mermaid regrets about her trip is that she hasn’t been able to find an underwater mailbox to send all of her postcards home!"
