Set Facts
- The Ice Planet theme, a classic part of LEGO Space, was active from 1993 to 1994 and stood out for its trans-neon-orange accents on mainly white sets, designed to complement a frosty setting. Despite the discontinuation of trans-neon-orange components, the Ice Planet Explorer set retains the essence of this now-retired color through a trans-orange chainsaw and orange printed visors for both the minifigure and its penguin companion.

Ice Planet Explorer Reviews
“LEGO Ice Planet Explorer with Space Penguin - the Ice Planet Redux theme was released in 1993 and 1994 and only had three minifigures; two of which shared the same torso design. The color scheme then was blue, black, white and elements of transparent orange and this LEGO... More Minifigure adheres to the same color palette.”
Brick Fanatics
“Another classic sub-theme of LEGO Space, Ice Planet ran between 1993 and 1994 and was recognizable for its trans-neon-orange details on predominantly white sets, to fit in with the snowy landscape. Although trans-neon-orange elements have been discontinued, Ice Planet... More Explorer still captures the spirit of now-retired color with a trans-orange chainsaw and orange printed visors on both the minifigure and his penguin sidekick.”
