“A rarity within the NINJAGO Legacy line for being completely original, 71742 Overlord Dragon is ultimately going to end up a must-have for collectors, and for good reason. 71742 Overlord Dragon took almost nine years to get to us, and thankfully the wait has produced a set... More that more than does the character justice. An eye-catching colour scheme, a long and tall body and decent wingspan are all reasons to overlook the rather lightweight nature of the wing design”

“The LEGO Ninjago Legacy Overlord Dragon (71742) is sort of a mixed bag for me. Dragons in general are pretty hard to get right and I feel that it didn't work here. The Overlord Dragon in the show had a more purple hue all around and the dark blue used for most of the body... More seems off. I get that LEGO was trying to do some light shading on it but it's not for me.”

About Ninjago Legacy

Legacy is a subtheme of Ninjago that was introduced in 2019 and currently consists of 33 sets.

LEGO Ninjago, also known as Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu, theme was introduced in 2011 and included sets that are based off of original storylines, a TV series and The LEGO Ninjago Movie, a movie based on the theme. The main premise of the Ninjago universe is based around six teenage Ninja, Kai, Jay, Cole, Zane, Nya, and Lloyd, who have been trained by their master Sensei Wu, fighting forces of evil to protect the land of Ninjago. The ninjas use a LEGO inspired fighting style known as Spinjitzu where the fighters spin around and draw on their elemental strengths to become tornadoes of energy and each of the main protagonist characters is aligned to a particular element.

Little ninjas can enjoy recreating action-filled scenes from season 2 of the LEGO® NINJAGO® TV series with the Overlord Dragon (71742) playset. Featuring posable legs, head and wings adorned with blades, the dragon can take several different stances to inspire role-play fun.

The posable dragon toy is accompanied by 2 minifigures: ninja Golden Lloyd armed with a katana on his back and the Overlord wielding his own sharp blade, so kids have all they need to play out exhilarating battles in the sky and on the ground in this classic fight between good and evil.
