“As you'd expect for a set this size, there are many play functions. Some work better than others and the track is a bit sticky - you can't get much speed up in the cart as it doesn't travel under its own momentum - but perhaps it flows more freely when repeated play wears... More down the friction of wheel and track. Still, it's a lot of fun and the play functions are generally faithful to the movie - it's very enjoyable to reenact your favourite scenes.”

“There are a lot of pros to this set. The parts and minifigures alone make it great. The endless amount of play that all the features give you is wonderful. However, the cons are that those awesome features just don’t work. The build is also relatively boring for a set of... More this size. And the model is too fragile, large, and empty. I do recommend this set, but you should be aware of its shortcomings. This is the only set you’ll ever need to represent this movie so that is a huge plus.”

The LEGO Temple of Doom was a subtheme of LEGO Indiana Jones and contained sets based on the movie Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. The theme was introduced after the movie was released in 2009 and contains only 2 sets. The biggest of the two, The Temple of Doom (7199), included narrow gauge train tracks in order to re-create the mine cart chase scene from the second half of the film.
