About Pokémon SMART Play

SMART Play is LEGO's system of SMART Bricks that react with lights and sound to SMART Tags built into models and figures. The Pokémon sets for it arrived in August 2026. Only the All-In-One sets carry the electronics, such as 72164 Training House with Pikachu, which comes with a SMART Brick, a charger and four SMART Tags. The other sets, such as 72159 Jigglypuff Concert, have tags only and need a SMART Brick from an All-In-One set. A single tag tile, 4000703 SMART Sitrus Berry Tag, was a reward at LEGO Stores.

SMART Play curently consists of 16 sets, all released this year.

Play out a Pokmon Trainers first adventure with SMART Play: Charmander and Geodudes Cavern Clash (72157), a LEGO building toy where a search for treasure leads to a rock-smashing showdown. The Trainer explores a dark cave with Charmander and encounters a Geodude, swiveling around, sending rocks flying with its giant fists. A lever function breaks rock apart to reveal a hidden crystal, but first, kids must dodge projectiles from Geodudes disc shooter.
The Geodude and Charmander figures have movable limbs and incorporate SMART Tags. SMART Bricks found in All-In-One Sets (sold separately) bring Pokmon Trainer adventures to life with limitless interactive play possibilities, enabling Pokmon and other play pieces to react with responsive sounds, lights and more as kids move the Pokmon around. Put exciting battle action into kids hands with this collectible Pokmon playset, which makes a great gift idea for boys and girls ages 6 and up. Set contains 198 pieces.
