“The cost of LEGO Technic has been climbing, and perhaps we don't need every Technic set to have all the features we'd like it to have straight out of the box. Most purchasers are not willing or could not afford to pay for a wealth of additional features on a set like 8081,... More yet new Technic builders will love this set as it teaches many technical aspects of automobiles and Technic design. It's also a good set to develop a growing parts collection, so experienced Technic builders should love it too.”

“The suspension of the front tires is independent. The rear Tires are linked together and swings simultaneous up and down. Under the Hood is enough space for a V6 but the Engine is poorly a V4. It seems the 8081 should with this engine better called a "City SUV".”

About Technic

TECHNIC is one of The LEGO Company's main lines based on creating detailed model machines and mechanical toys with specialized beams, axles, gears and connectors and primarily designed for older children and adults. The theme was first introduced as the Expert Builder series in 1977, but was officially renamed as TECHNIC in 1984. TECHNIC is still an active theme, and is one of the longest running themes in LEGO history.
