“The final result is pretty good. It is big, yet attractive, like my ex-wife. It is also not very functional and highly overpriced, like my ex-wife. It is an excellent looking model with great tires. However, it seems like we are paying for the Power Functions rather than... More traditional mechanical functions, as there really aren't any. There are virtually no gears. The raising bed works great, but that's really all it does.”

“The set is appreciated for its durability and the engaging motorized dumping feature, although it offers a simpler build with fewer gears and manual steering, diverging from the more complex Technic sets. The dumping mechanism employs a motor and an arm, presumably using a worm gear for linear actuation, which is a highlight.”
 

About Technic

TECHNIC is one of The LEGO Company's main lines based on creating detailed model machines and mechanical toys with specialized beams, axles, gears and connectors and primarily designed for older children and adults. The theme was first introduced as the Expert Builder series in 1977, but was officially renamed as TECHNIC in 1984. TECHNIC is still an active theme, and is one of the longest running themes in LEGO history. While most TECHNIC sets are vehicles that use pieces to mimic real vehicles, such as engine pieces, suspension, pneumatic, and transmission pieces, the TECHNIC parts have been used by various other System themes as well as LEGO Mindstorms.
