The canister set builds the Gravity-powered Nuhvok-Kal, featuring the Bohrok functions of a spring-loaded head with opening faceplate to reveal a Krana and the ability to fold into a rolling ball. Two versions were issued: 8573-1 and 8573-2, the latter including a mini CD-ROM; early copies also included a Nuhvok-Kal Mini Promo CD. Some production runs randomly included a sterling silver Krana-Kal Xa limited to 72 pieces or a white metal Krana-Kal Xa limited to 5,000, each with a certificate of authenticity, a promotion not offered in Europe.

The average used price is $20 for those in good overall condition. New and sealed listings currently range from $92 to $129. Based on current trends, this set could be valued near $104 within the next year.

“Nuhvok-Kal is a fantastic figure, and probably my favourite villain in the all BIONICLE line. He's not the biggest there is, but he's part of an elite squad of warriors, and as such he features unique armour and new or re-coloured pieces, which are also excellent for MOCs... More (not only BIONICLE related, too). His design is very interesting, the colour scheme is excellent, and I regret not getting some of his brothers at the time.”

“Nuhvok-Kal can also be curled up into a ball. A piece included will clip onto Nuhvok-Kal's lower back, and can be used to hang Nuhvok-Kal from the lid of its canister when it is in its ball shape. The canister itself is modeled after an individual cell of the Bohrok Nests,... More and the hanging Nuhvok-Kal represents the Bohrok-Kal's dormancy.”

About Bionicle Bohrok-Kal

The BIONICLE Bohrok-Kal was an elite team of six Bohrok that have increased powers and different Krana than the normal Bohrok. Each of the Bohrok-Kal sets had 40 pieces, and when a lever on the back was pressed, the head would go forward and backwards. When the lever was released, the head would go back.

Bohrok-Kal was introduced in 2003 and currently consists of 6 sets. As of today, 8574 Tahnok-Kal is the most valuable Bohrok-Kal set with an estimated new/factory sealed value of $161.

From the depths of Mata Nui, they came... six elite Bohrok, the Bohrok-Kal, with one mission: to free the Bohrok queens and unleash the swarms again! Only the Toa Nuva stand in their way... but the Bohrok-Kal have stolen the elemental powers of the heroes, leaving them helpless. Will the Toa Nuva's first adventure be their last?

One of the most dangerous of the Bohrok-Kal, Nuhvok-Kal has single-handedly defeated both Tahu Nuva and an entire Bohrok swarm. With its gravity shield, Nuhvok-Kal can increase gravity (making an opponent too heavy to stand), or eliminate it (causing a foe to float into the air)! Look for 72 Limited Edition genuine Sterling Silver Krana-Kal and 5,000 Limited Edition silver-colored metal versions in Bohrok-Kal packages. They're randomly packed so you never know where the power of Silver might be found (not available in Europe)!
