About Power Miners

Power Miners was a LEGO theme released in 2009 and was the successor to Rock Raiders and was generally set in underground caverns. Two generations of the theme were released, in the first generation, Power Miners are deep in the crust of the Earth where they fight the Rock Monsters. In the second generation, Power Miners have drilled into the volcanic recesses of the Earth's core where team faces the Lava Monsters. The theme was discontinued in 2010.

The Power Miners can grind through granite with the Cave Crusher's spinning front blades, flamethrower, and drill station. When rock monsters attack, the Cave Crusher's saw blades can be launched at the enemy. Includes two Power Miners and rock monster Tremorox. 8708 Cave Crusher was released in June 2009 as part of the Power Miners line (being set number 9 in the series). Included are Duke, Rex, and Tremorox monster Minifigures. The set consists of 259 pieces, which mainly make up the vehicle used to collect the crystals.
