LEGO 8843 Fork-Lift Truck is a Technic set released in 1984, containing 269 pieces. The model is an early Technic forklift with rear-wheel steering, controlled either by an overhead knob or by a steering wheel. It was one of the first Technic sets to use the newer generation of pneumatic elements, with a single-acting pneumatic system that raises the fork through rubber tubing routed inside the beams. The set is also notable for including a long-stroke pneumatic actuator, a part that appeared in only a small number of Technic models during its short production period.

Due to the still simple pneumatics technology the fork can only be raised and lowered very roughly. It rather jumps up or down, so smooth lifting and lowering is not possible. Therefore there are only four stars in the overall rating. The highlight of this model is the steering wheel.”

TECHNIC is one of The LEGO Company's main lines based on creating detailed model machines and mechanical toys with specialized beams, axles, gears and connectors and primarily designed for older children and adults.
