LEGO 8848 Power Truck is a Technic set released in 1981, containing 398 pieces. It was due to the great appearance, many functions and a high degree of flexibility with regard to possible attachments and conversions. The only drawback is that the steering wheel... More is located directly under the roof of the driver's cab, so the roof must be removed in order to steer the Power Truck correctly. Therefore, it is not quite enough for the maximum score.”

About Technic

TECHNIC is one of The LEGO Company's main lines based on creating detailed model machines and mechanical toys with specialized beams, axles, gears and connectors and primarily designed for older children and adults. The theme was first introduced as the Expert Builder series in 1977, but was officially renamed as TECHNIC in 1984. TECHNIC is still an active theme, and is one of the longest running themes in LEGO history. While most TECHNIC sets are vehicles that use pieces to mimic real vehicles, such as engine pieces, suspension, pneumatic, and transmission pieces, the TECHNIC parts have been used by various other System themes as well as LEGO Mindstorms.

This truck does double duty. The front is a bulldozer with a working shovel. The back, a flat-bed dump truck that can be raised and lowered. Controls for both are operated from the cab. This model includes heavy-duty tires, rack- and-pinion steering, differential gears, and 3-point suspension for the shovel. The new Power Truck also converts into a snow plow, grading-blade scraper, or lawnmower. Instructions for this model and a dune buggy are included. Available August 1981
