LEGO 8854 Power Crane is a Technic set released in 1989, containing 516 pieces. Also known as Mobile Crane With Pneumatic Hoist and TECHNIC Salvage Hoist, the model is built around a mobile salvage crane with steering, stabilizers, a rotating telescopic boom, and a working hook. It uses a double-acting pneumatic system to raise and lower the boom, while the telescopic arm can also be extended and retracted to about 160 percent of its original length. The front wheels are steered by an overhead control, and the set is noted as the first Technic model to include a metal hook.

About Technic

TECHNIC is one of The LEGO Company's main lines based on creating detailed model machines and mechanical toys with specialized beams, axles, gears and connectors and primarily designed for older children and adults.
