LEGO 920-2 Rocket Launch Pad is a Space Classic set released in 1979, containing 186 pieces and 3 minifigures. The set builds a rocket base with a collapsible launch tower and a control center with monitors and a dish antenna. It also includes a ground vehicle with a trailer to service the rocket. It features one red and two white Classic Spaceman minifigures, and was not sold in the United States, where a counterpart was released as 483 Alpha-1 Rocket Base; the set is also known as Launch Pad.

“The LEGO Rocket Launch Pad from 1979, also known as the Alpha-1 Rocket Base, is a standout from the early Classic Space era, featuring a rocket with transport vehicle, a spinning crane, and the iconic space minifigures. Its simple design and small piece count reflect the style of the time, yet it still offers solid functionality and alternate build possibilities. Though modest by today’s standards, it remains an important and highly valued set for fans of LEGO’s early space history.”
 

About Space Classic

The LEGO Classic Space was introduced in 1978 and was the first space theme. It features sets with peaceful space explorers with no enemies unlike other LEGO space sets. There were 5 astronaut minifigures the wore the same suites but in various colors including blue, red, white, yellow and black.

Classic consists of 90 sets that ran from 1978 to 2015. As of today, 926 Command Center is the most valuable Classic set with an estimated new/factory sealed value of $4,645.
