The LEGO Racers theme which was introduced in 2001 was the successor of LEGO Race. Since the theme started, most race cars in LEGO System and TECHNIC universe have been released under the LEGO Racers theme. Racers was discontinued in 2012 and it was succeeded by Speed Champions, introduced in 2015.
Drome RacersThe LEGO Drome Racers is a subtheme of LEGO Racers that ran from 2002 until it was discontinued in 2004. In addition the the LEGO set theme, a video came also called Drome Racers was released.
Outdoor RCaLEGO Outdoor RC was a subtheme of Racers that consisted of four sets, the first set introduced in 2004 and the remainder sates were available in 2006. The theme contained RC LEGO cars that could be controlled by a wireless radio remote control unit.
Power RacersThe LEGO Power Racers subtheme of LEGO Racers was introduced in 2005 and focused on TECHNIC and System vehicles with various functions such as pull-back motors, falling apart on impact, or slammers which propelled it forward.
Tiny TurbosThe LEGO Tiny Turbos was a subtheme of LEGO Racers that ran from 2005 to 2011. The sets contain micro-scale cars that unsually came in plastic canisters, which have lids shaped like a half of a wheel.
XalaxLEGO Xalax, also know as Crash 'em Racers was a Racers subtheme which was introduced in 2001 and discontinued the same year. These sets used special Xalax Figures which were not minifigure scale.
